Miami District 2
Commissioner Marc Sarnoff
will lead officials and
residents in a
groundbreaking ceremony
Thursday for the
construction of a park on
1814 Brickell Avenue.
“The planning and creation
of 1814 Brickell Avenue Park
has been a labor of love for
us,” Sarnoff said. “When it
is completed this fall, the
1814 Park will take its
place among the most
beautiful parks in all of
South Florida, which is what
the citizens of Brickell and
in the City of Miami
deserve.” The ceremony will
be at 10 a.m. at 1814
Brickell Avenue. Officials
expect the park to be
completed in about five
months.
The total estimated cost of
the park’s construction is
more than $1M with funding
provided by Homeland Defense
Bond Series 3. The Capital
Improvements project
consists of constructing a
new park on a 35,500 square
foot property. The project
includes landscaped areas,
an elevated landscaped
court, and a children’s play
area. The landscaping
consists of groundcover,
shrubs and mature trees,
decorative concrete
hardscape, benches, picket
fencing, site drainage,
irrigation and lighting.
