Pelican Bay is one of the more notable master planned communities (or
planned unit developments - PUD) in the Naples area. Pelican Bay
encompasses more 5 square miles - almost the size of a small town. The
residents of Pelican Bay have access to their own private beach on the
Gulf of Mexico. Tram service is available from numerous convenient
locations throughout the community. Besides being a private beach
community, Pelican Bay is a private golf course community with 27
challenging holes. Tennis courts are found within Pelican Bay, as well
as, numerous walking and jogging paths through the lush natural Florida
landscaping. Pelican Bay offers low-rise condominiums, luxury high-rise
condominiums with spectacular vistas of the Gulf, private villa
residences, carriage or coach home condominiums, and single family
estate homes. Within Pelican Bay many conveniences are found for
shopping at the upscale Waterside Shoppes on the southeast corner of the
community and casual shopping at The Marketplace at Pelican Bay on the
northeast corner. The Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts can also
be found within Pelican Bay. "The Phil," as locals call it, offers
Broadway Musicals, many other theatrical presentations, serves as the
home of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, and houses the Naples Museum
