area of 2.5 km˛ (1.0 sq mi). 1.3 km˛ (0.5 sq
mi) of it is land and 1.2 km˛ (0.5 sq mi) of
it (47.42%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,909
people, 2,248 households, and 1,330 families
residing in the town. The population density
was 3,790.8/km˛ (9,721.8/mi˛). There were
3,059 housing units at an average density of
2,362.2/km˛ (6,058.1/mi˛). The racial makeup
of the town was 93.50% White (52.7% were
Non-Hispanic White,)1.28% African American,
0.04% Native American, 1.16% Asian, 0.02%
Pacific Islander, 1.51% from other races,
and 2.49% from two or more races. Hispanic
or Latino of any race were 43.53% of the
population.
